KIDS SAFETY AWARENESS SEMINAR
SAFE Kids know what to do if there’s a fire in your home and how to prevent it.
SAFE Kids know about household chemicals and their dangers.
SAFE Kids know how to handle social pressures and be street smart.
SAFE Kids know what to do in the event of an accident.
SAFE Kids understand not to get involved with the wrong crowd.
Your child can be a “SAFE Kid”!
Professionals from a local Fire Department, Police Department and First Aid Squad present safety issues relating to their expertise.
KID'S SOCIAL EMPOWERMENT WORKSHOP
This workshop is designed for kids ages 6 through 12 years and their parents. The workshop explores what social empowerment is and how to develop your own empowerment with help from your parents. How social empowerment is useful when faced with social challenges especially bullying. What is bullying,who bullies, who gets bullied, why kids bully and signs of bulling. Interactive sessions are included to improve relationships between parents and kids, and between kids.
The kids learn to use brain power as their primary approach for self defense. We also teach the use of “MENTAL DODGE BALL” as a means of handling teasing and put-downs.
For parents we explain NJSA 18A which is the NJ statute regarding “Harassment, Intimidation and Bullying Policies”. We teach parents the signs of being bullied or of bullying others. Part of the presentation includes role playing with parents and their children to develop the understanding of how they can best interact with their child when faced with bullying and other negative social influences.
Group sizes:10 to 25. Duration:60-90 min.
AVOIDING BULLYING FOR TEENS
Our Bully Proofing for teens Workshop explains
The definition of NJSA 18A the statute regarding “ Harassment, Intimidation and Bullying Policies”. Students rights are explained as well as using our “KICKS” approach. Through interactive sessions, the students are made aware of how much alike everyone is and why we should treat everyone with respect. More emphasis is placed on “Social Bullying” and “Cyberbullying” which, due to technology is more prevalent than physical bullying.
Group sizes—10 to 20. Duration-60 minutes.
COURAGE BUILDING
Our Courage Building Workshop is designed specifically for Scouting organizations. The workshop helps all levels of scouts, girls and boys, to build courage in order to attain their courage merit badge. We develop an understanding of what courage is and how to tap into that courage when facing challenges.
These sessions are held by appointment with up to 25 participants. Duration is 45 minutes.
